Evening Star Elementary School General Enrollment
Whether you’re already a Scissortail family, in the process of becoming one or zoned for this fantastic new school, here’s all you need to know about getting registered for August 2019.
- General enrollment opens April 1, 2019.
- New home buyers or lot buyers, you must have a contract on your home with no contingencies that are shorter than 90 days.

Kindergarten Enrollment
Do you have a child entering kindergarten in 2019-2020? Kindergarten online pre-registration begins January 28 at 8 am for all upcoming kindergartners and is open until February 8th at 3 pm. The final registration date for pre-registered kindergarten students is:
- February 26th from 8 am to 6 pm
- February 27th from 8 am to 4 pm
- February 28th from 7 am to 2 pm
Students zoned for Evening Star Elementary ONLY will go to Student Service located at 1000 SE 14th St, Bentonville AR final registration. Please see link for more information about kindergarten registration.
Documents Needed for Enrollment
Two types of proof of residency required
(choose one of the following options):
- Current real-estate property tax receipt and a current utility bill (gas, water or electric) with your name and address.
- Rent or lease agreement and a current utility bill (gas, water or electric) in your name and address.
Current Utility Bills
You’ll need to provide two different utility bills with your name and address on it. Choose from the following:
- Gas
- Water
- Electric
Cable bills, insurance bills, satellite or phone bills, personal property tax, mortgage statement, etc. are not considered acceptable forms for proof of residency.
Note: Scissortail families, if you don’t have a utility bill, then you need to go to the Bentonville School District office
and fill out an in-process affidavit.

Don’t Have the Above-Listed Items?
If you don’t have one of the above-listed items, you must come to the Bentonville Schools Student Services Center located at 500 Tiger Blvd in Bentonville, with documented proof that you reside in the Bentonville School District. Based on the documents provided, the District Office will provide the necessary paperwork to complete the enrollment process.
- Copy of the child’s birth certificate
- Copy of the child’s social security card
- Up-to-date immunization record

Moving Mid-Year?
If you move to Scissortail mid-school year, and you want to keep your child in their current school, they’ll allow you to stay there until the end of the school year. You’ll need to transfer to Evening Star Elementary School, or the appropriately zoned school the following year. The deadline for this will change year-to-year, so you’ll need to check in with the school office.
